The E. Amaldi Foundation is one of Teseas strategic partners for the 9th CASSINI Hackathon: Space for Healthcare in Bologna, following the success of the 8th edition in Rome.
After successfully organising the 8th CASSINI Hackathon in Rome, the E. Amaldi Foundation is pleased to announce its role as partner for the 9th CASSINI Hackathon, which will be held in Bologna from 16 to 18 May 2025, organised by Teseas and dedicated to the theme ‘Space for Healthcare’.
This hackathon represents a unique opportunity for passionate innovators to improve healthcare and public health. No previous experience in the space sector is required: participants will have to choose a challenge, use EU space technologies and compete for prizes.
The challenges proposed for this edition are:
- Monitoring disease outbreaks and health risks
- Intelligent management of emergency health services
- Mental health and individual well-being
At a local level, cash prizes will be awarded: €2,000 for first place, €1,000 for second place and €500 for third place. At a European level, the winning teams will have the opportunity to compete for further recognition. The main prizes of the European competition include: cash prizes for the top three teams at European level (€5,000 for first place, €3,000 for second place and €1,000 for third place) and 6 months of mentoring by experts for the top three teams at European level.
To prepare participants as best as possible, the ‘BIG IDEAS CAMPAIGN’ will be held from 5 to 9 May 2025, a week of informative and exploratory sessions that will provide the necessary basis for facing the challenges of the competition, integrating the meetings of the central Hub to provide useful insights to all participants involved.
